My Marilyn Monroe inspired dress!

                                                 .

And the one and only Marilyn in her fabulous Dior backless gown, wow!

Marilyn Monroe by Bert Stern from 1962. The back of this dress plunges in the back like mine, so now I can pin point the year  it was made from the late 50s to early 60s. Mine has a different cut and a lot tighter more of a wiggle dress compared to her Dior gown. It  has a  large satin bow with a plunging back or backless similar to hers, so glamourous.I think she would have loved to wear a dress like this, definitely her style.

Here's Dree Hemingway in a reproduction of Monroe's 1962 Dior black gown. It's not the same dress, but such an inspiration very pretty indeed.

I'm sorry I missed your comment. The dress is beautiful, but it does have some issues, first of all my friend gave it to me, but she was a smoker. So if you have an allergy to smoke I would pass up this dress. It has been aired out since she passed away three years, she wanted me to have this dress, but I'm too tall for it. It's very small, petite size I would guess. She did not have it cleaned, so a professional dry cleaning is recommended. Also the zipper is broken, so it needs to be replaced. When it's ready to list it should be either fixed or dry cleaned, when it has a buyer. I will have it listed on this blog with description and price, also it will be on my Etsy shop- Vintage Dress Up Gal and on my new website that I share with my gal pal- http://graveyardvintage.com/ We have great deals over there.
Thank you so much for your comment. If you need info just email me at cabbiekat@hotmail.com
Thanks!
