Such a busy 2023, what a year. Wow! I just realized that I have not blogged since 2022.  Does anyone else still blog or do we just Instagram everything, heehee.

Life has been chaotic, but such fun.  Just no time really. My husband's birthday present last year was a  German Shepherd pup , our Figgis or Figgy. He has turned one year. Our 2023 we call the year of Figgis, nothing else. No concerts, no get togethers , just training and dog parks . It's so much work, but he's such a good pup.

Now currently he doesn't fit in his favourite Victorian style chair. He rules the roost and loves his fur family to pieces.

But enough of me...on with the show and tell....

So my birthday week I received the best present , an original Gilbert Adrian dress. He is considered one of the best Hollywood designers and is copied by fashion designer to this day. Just Google him and you'll see what I'm talking about. Right now the most expensive Adrian suit is on Etsy for $8k and don't get me started with how much they are on 1stDibs.com. Holy cow a  gown worn by Lana Turner sold for $20,000!!!  Google it, that one is outstanding. All his gowns, dresses and suits have increased in value since I've been searching for this holy grail in the vintage world.

I just posted only the label of this dress on my Instagram and have already received a few private messages, but with only a 7 likes which surprised me. Most sellers and collectors want to remain anonymous, which I totally understand.  I will be listing this dress very soon on my Etsy shop under the name Only Couture, I find it fitting to sell this beauty there since it's very haute couture in my book.

Well here is the original label in it's original faded black which would match with the dress. Circa 1940s rayon crepe with no shoulder pads, very well structured. It features a fancy gathered v-neckline and on the waist a crisscross inlaid panel and lastly a gathered draping skirt.

Photos coming soon in next post.

I'm off to the dog park with 22 F and falling, so cold for Washington. Brrrrrrr!
