1950s Off the Shoulder LBD

New to the website is this classic little black dress, reminds me of Old Hollywood, so Audrey.

Vintage 1950s Black Surplice/ Crossover style dress S

This dress is done in a cotton / rayon blend. The style of the bodice has a surplice or crossover faux wrap front. Can be worn off the shoulders for a different look, very cute. There is a metal zipper on the back works fine, a pleated skirt and a wide skirt bottom. The sleeves are capped, there is no label or tag. It is made very well. The fabric is thin and has a ribbed crinkled look, but would look great layered with a crinoline or slip for fullness.

In good vintage condition- a small seam needs to be re-sewn under the arm and I did locate a hole on the shoulder, two easy repairs.

Measurements-
Bust- 32( some stretch)
Waist- 28-
Shoulder to Shoulder 16-
Shoulder to cuff -7-
 Hips- full-
 Length- 36

Thank you for checking out my vintage collection.

Here are some examples of this style from the 1950s and early 60s.
All have nipped waists and full skirts, so timeless.

Emma Domb for the Holidays.

Note to self... If the black and gold one does not sell before the holidays, I am going to wear it to the Brian Setzer concert, hehe. I just love my vintage closet I have soooooo much to choose from since I'm a vintage dealer. These dresses are both available now on my Etsy shop , my personal website or just Google Todressvintage and there you go. Sorry I can't model the antique white gown, the size it too small for me. I do have photos of me in the other dress. Its about a medium, but I have it pinned to me. My husband took photos of me in the dress, that was a fun afternoon.  I just like to have fun with my vintage.

I'm wearing it here with my bear or mink faux fur hat that I got from Port Townsend, the best seaport town in Washington. Cheers!
