This is why I love Lilli Anns....

I have been a huge Lilli Ann fan for years, I purchase my very first one in high-school at a local vintage shop in the 1980s. Thanks to the vintage shop Kitchy- Koo I fell in love with a Lilli Ann  faux leopard print coat. This coat is long gone, I ended up selling it to a gal at a local coffee shop. Boy, do I miss that coat of mine.  When I get one it is hard to let go, but boy do they sell  fast.  I had such  a good week when one coat went to California, a dress went to NYC and now my favorite one is off to the UK.  I have only three more Lilli Ann suits left in my collection, I hope they sell soon. I might keep them, hehe. I have not listed them on my website until they come back from the dry cleaners this week, and one will need some repairs. I will blog them later...stay tuned.

Here are the beauties that are now in happy homes...

Lillie Rubin Couture Dress and Lillie Rubin Through 50s- 80s vintage Lillie Rubin

Lillie Rubin  started 1946 in Miami Florida,  sadly it went out of business in the 1990s.. I really  believed that it was person behind this label,  kinda disappointed that it's the store name. Glad to find out that many famous designers stood behind this store's label from many years.- from Joan Leslie, Johnny Herbert, Robert David Morton, Molly Paris, Pierre Cardin, Fora King, Giorgio Sant' Angelo , and many more too many to list.  The label was known for their evening gowns for weddings, prom, and other special occasions.  The brick and mortar stores are no longer around, now the company is owned by Cache.

Here's my late 70s early 80s  vintage Lillie Rubin, a sweet little number. Perfect for any occasion, what a fun dress and very unique. Wow! Perfect pin up style - va va voom!!! I wonder who designed this dress?

Measurements-bust 38-waist-28-hips36-pouffy black rosettes 9 inches across-(very large but so cute)-found one tear on rosette, that's all.

Alfred Angelo's Burlesque Style Dress

Up for offer is this fantastic Alfred Angelo's fun cocktail dress. Actually it would be a perfect performance dress for a singer or classic burlesque dancer. The dress of course would need to be altered, in order to perform a strip tease, but that's up to you. I will be listing this dress on my Etsy this week, so stay tuned. I found some great snap shots of classic burlesque performers from the 50s. Gotta love their fishtail dresses, similar to mine. Sorry about the color change, the dress is a dark blue not black. The sparkles are  not colorful , they are silver. The dress does have some of the sparkles missing, not bad when you're on stage. The last closeup shows the true color and what the sparkles look like up close, they are not beads or sequins. Measurements are 34 bust- waist-28 hips 36 - medium size dress, there's no stretch due to fabric. If you are interested in this dress just email me at cabbiekat@hotmail.com or check out the dress on my To Dress Vintage Etsy shop. Thanks!

Look at Rita Hayworth's dress from the 1952 movie" Affair in Trinidad" , what a knockout dress.
Have fun with vintage!
