More Gold Lame Purses Coming Very Soon.... but First Our Marilyn
These photos are from a very rare Marilyn Monroe photo-shoot entitled "The Gold Dress Sitting ".
They are by her personal photographer and friend, Milton Green and were shot on 1954 in his
Lexington studio NYC.
Check out that gold lame dress, it's just a simple shirt dress, but on her the gold comes alive.
I wonder who her designer was?
I located these on Pinterst and Tumblr.
The entire pose sitting, so beautiful.
And last, but not least my vintage gold lame purse collection. Just click on them and you will be taken to my Graveyard Vintage Ebay listing page.
Vintage 1950s Black Widow Purses That Vampira Would Carry
I'm loving summer, yeah right . I can hardly wait for the clouds and the cold rain this September.
Sorry, I'm a northwest native who adores the cold and wet Northwest.
Anyhow this week I will be listing more vintage lots on my Graveyard Vintage_999 Ebay, first my small collection of 1950s black widow cocktail purses and maybe some other goodies.Just click on the image and you'll see this lot.
Here's just a sneak peek at them and two rare photos of my favorite 1950s ghoul pin up Vampira with her purse collection.
I believe she would have enjoyed sporting my collection wouldn't you agree.

Graveyard Vintage Is Alive and Kicking!!!!
WELCOME TO GRAVEYARD VINTAGE
Well , I've returned to sell on Ebay ,but now with my old Etsy store name Graveyard Vintage I have a fondness for this name. My best gal pal and I created it years ago, and now it will live on. I'm in the slow process of changing my business name from To Dress Vintage.com to Graveyard Vintage.com. I have to keep my To Dress Vintage for half a year on Go Daddy, but it will be changed sometime after Nov or Dec. Stay tuned cats and kittens.
With Graveyard Vintage I can branch off by selling more things like household vintage items and other goodies. Ebay is the best deal in town. Etsy seems to be changing fast and are not too helpful helping their sellers. Okay off my soapbox.
The Graveyard is now open with a few items that are on my Ebay listing, such as household items and collectibles but, I plan to list more vintage clothing and accessories as soon as I can.
Here are some of my Graveyard goodies that you might enjoy. I just listed all of these except for the summer totes. I will be listing them soon, stay tuned.
Just click on a photo and it will take you directly to my Ebay listing, I'm in the process of opening up an Ebay Store in the near future.

Wow! My Vintage Lace Blouses Are Similar To Lucy's And Are On Sale This Week Only
Happy days are here again, I have decided to utilize my Instagram more often, but will still be sharing my goodies on my vintage blog. You can follow me at https://www.instagram.com/vintagegal7
Yesterday, I was not feeling too good, this time it was from an accident. I hit my head real bad, I even saw stars. Ouch! So I ended up spending a few days in bed resting, while I was taking care of myself I watched " I Love Lucy " on Decades TV. It happened to be the episode " LA At Last" from 1955. When I was watching it I noticed that Lucy was wearing her lace button front blouse, she must have loved this blouse because it can be seen in the "Equal Rights" from 1953 episode, anyhow I got to thinking I have a few lace blouses that are a different variation to Elois Jenssens' designs, and two are on my website right now.
This one is done in a dusty pink Chantilly lace with a sweet faux pearl button front and trimmed in silk. The blouse is not lined, and appears to be homemade.
Here's my second vintage blouse.
This sweet blouse has 40s style shoulders, kind of gathered, and 1/2 length sleeves that are cuffed. Sorry I used my flash, it really is a light pink. Perfect blouse to wear over a vintage formal gown. This one can be located on my website right now.
My last blouse is not pink, but very similar to Lucy Ricardo's blouse. This one is done in a cotton beige floral lace with beige linen trim on the collar and cuffs.I believe it came with a matching dress at one time. This has so many possibilities, you could even dye it your favorite color with Rit Dye. This will be listed shortly on my website. Stay tuned...
All three are so classic Hollywood, I think Lucille Ball would give her stamp of approval.
Here's two short clips from I Love Lucy with William Holden, the episode was entitled "LA At Last", which is a scream.
Such a sweet blouse on our Lucy.
I was tickled pink when I saw this episode, and you can see why her choice of outfits from Elois Jenssen were perfect for this tv show.
She had such class!

Iconic Denim Jean Designer Gloria Vanderbilt Dies at 95
I was sad to hear the passing of Gloria Vanderbilt yesterday, she was one of my favorite fashion jean designers from my teens . My mom bought me my first pair of GV designer jeans at Pizazz (Pzazz) junior shop at Fredrick and Nelson, gosh I loved the pockets. I must have worn those jeans until they were all torn to shreds...( sad to say ripped jeans were not the rage in the early 80s) The vintage 1980s GV's from my teens sold for $60.00 back in the day, but now they are worth much more. There even is a bold seller that has a dead stock pair for $400.00.Wow! What do you think? Too pricey? With the passing of Gloria Vanderbilt all her jeans are going to be harder to find, everyone will want them again. Time is repeating itself.
I found this photo of Debbie Harry and her commercial from 70s, doesn't she look beautiful. " GV jeans by Murjani" 1979. ( Sorry, the owner has disabled it, but you can click the link and see it on his channel.) I guess he owns the rights to this video. Anyhow you can see another commercial right below it, this one I found on Archive.org., a free sharing site. See her jeans in action, gosh now I want a pair again.
Looking through older photos I found this photo of Gloria and Salvador Dali back in 1941 taken at his Surrealist Ball. She was a stunning lady. There's was so much more to her then just creating her famous denim jeans. Google her and see what I'm talking about. Her story is amazing and be sure to check out her biography by Anderson Cooper from 2016 , who happens to be her son.
RIP Gloria.
Please watch this link from You Tube, it's so good.

A Mini Gold Rush From My Vintage Collection
First, my favorite pair of sandals that are from Hawaii. This pair is by Kamehameha from the 60s.
Kamehameha in Hawaiian means " The One Set Apart" , which comes to mind when you think of these sandals, they are very unique.
They are fashioned in gold and silver with bead work meant to resemble shells or sea-life. There's even a cork block heel.
The second pair of sandals are from the 80s. Very Viva Las Vegas, perfect cocktail sandals to lounge by the pool. These sandals have a small black wedge with gold trim and the its accented with faux leather flowers.
The third pair of sandals are from the mid 90s by Bruno Magli Couture, they are gold slip ons mules with a square toe, intricate gold weave and an curved block heel. These are sexy cocktails sandals ,so Italian. Check out that cool heel!
My last pair I will be listing is a sweet pair of 1960s Asian hostess slip-ons . They are done in gold
brocade with fancy bead work of red and pink flowers and a red padded cushion insole.
All are in good vintage condition, but with flaws. These Bruno Magli's will need some touch ups on the gold weave. The 60s Kamehameha has bead loss ,but very wearable. The Asian slip- ons have been crushed on the side of the toe, possibly how they were from stored. The brocade is thick, so just add a small shoe horn or newspaper to store them properly .Lastly the lounge sandals have some scruffs on the leather and normal wear.
These would be perfect for resale.
Thanks for checking out my collection.
Have a great day!
